SCHOOL HOLIDAY CAMPS IN LEICESTERSHIRE

OUR NEW COVID-19 SECURE SCHOOL HOLIDAY CLUBS FOR MAY HALF-TERM AND SUMMER 2021

STAGE, SOLVE AND SPORTS HOLIDAY CLUBS IN LEICESTERSHIRE

Following the government guidance closely, we have been able to successfully run our Leicestershire holiday clubs throughout 2020 and 2021. We have adapted our hugely popular holiday camps and even managed to expand to a new camp location in that time! The current guidance for the May Half term 2021 has limited restrictions still, less than previously but still more than normal. The summer holiday clubs will not have any restrictions under the current guidance. To see our current guidance, please click here

Our 2020 holiday camps were modified and improved in response to the ongoing pandemic. We upped our club cleaning and safety measures to meet the new government standards (without sacrificing any of the fun!) to give your child the safest and most fun school holidays! We are continuing this for our Easter, May Half Term and Summer holiday clubs 2021, which are perfect for children who don’t enjoy traditional school holiday clubs, due to our wide range of activities, fantastic coaches and relaxed, fun ethos!

MULTI-SPORTS

In the multi-sports camps we play lots of traditional and modern sports which are played inside and out!

STAGE

This is our holiday camp which includes performing arts, dance, gymnastics, cheerleading and much more!

SOLVE

New to 2021, our holiday clubs will include the solve area. This area is lots of fun, active problem-solving games and activities!

NEW RULES, SAME SCHOOL HOLIDAY FUN!

At Rocket Holiday Camps, we always go the extra mile, continually thinking of new games and activities for our stage and sport school holiday camps to ensure that children experience lots of different activities and don’t get bored, even if they spend a 6 week summer with us! Don’t forget, our coaches are all qualified and enhanced DBS checked, we are safe and passionate about creating an awesome atmosphere.

KEY DIFFERENCES TO OUR PRE COVID HOLIDAY CAMPS - COVID-19 SECURE

Every activity has been reviewed and if needed will be modified to reduce contact and mixing. We will aim to be outside as much as possible and only use large open spaces.

We will clean equipment pre and post activities, with a deep clean each day of key areas. Please also see the hygiene and handwashing notes.

This one really upsets us as it is everyones favourite event in the sun. However, to keep everyone safe this year we are unable to have these water fights until the summer camps. We will, however, have lots of other fun activities instead!

We will isolate the child if they develop symptoms in a secure area with a coach either keeping a 2m distance or wearing full PPE. We will then give the parent further guidance on what to do and how to be tested.

If a child who attends the camps tests positive for COVID-19 we will be forced to follow our closure procedures and everyone within the bubble will need to self isolate for 14 days, including staff. Full guidance will be given for every parent with close help and advice from the government agencies.

Children will wash their hands very regularly with hand sanitiser available at any point. We also ask that parents make sure children’s lunches are possible for them to open themselves to reduce delays for the child. We will also continue to teach the “catch it, kill it, bin it” approach.

Children will be asked some screening questions before entering the camp to ensure they do not have any COVID-19 symptoms. If we think your child has any COVID-19 symptoms we will not be able to allow entry and will give further advice.

Our aim is to support the children’s learning of good hygiene practices and to encourage children to not make contact with each other physically. Our sessions and activities will be designed to remove these risks, with distanced spacing in large spaces (outside, in the sports hall or main halls). Further, outdoors will be utilised for all activities if possible, equipment will be regularly cleaned and activities altered to reduce mixing of equipment or contact. Each bubble will have their own equipment which will not be used by the other bubble on site.

The government (DfE) has outlined the following,We know that, unlike older children and adults, early years and primary age children cannot be expected to remain 2 metres apart from each other and staff.”. However, “Where settings can keep children and young people in those small groups 2m away from each other, they should do so.”

The children do not need anything different from a normal camp;

  • A clean water bottle
  • Washable lunch bag/box (easily opened lunches only)
  • Clean comfortable footwear which can be used for physical activities
  • Clean set of spare clothes incase of accidents

All we ask of parents is to;

  • Not bring your child with any COVID-19 symptoms
  • Make sure they have all the items listed above
  • Keep a 2m social distance during pick up and drop off
  • Follow our one way system during pick up and drop off
  • Have patience, please expect the registration in the morning to take a little longer than normal and please arrive at your designated arrival time.

DAILY HOLIDAY CAMP SCHEDULE

Our stage OR sport holiday camps offer a schedule designed for busy and working parents. Our flexibility also allows you to only book what you need. Please note we also accept childcare vouchers.

8:15am Early Drop-Off

We start at 8:15am to help parents who either work during school holidays or just have a busy day ahead! We know how hard it is for working parents and we're here to help with our holiday clubs.

9:30am-4pm Normal Day

During this time we run the stage, multi-sport and solve camps throughout the day, which means children can choose between the 3 camps at the start of each of the 4 main sessions and swap between sessions. This means they can experience each area in a day, having a truly unique and personal camp experience!

5pm Late Pick-Up

As well as the early drop off, we also offer late pick up in case you cannot get to us for 4:00pm. Late pick up includes an extra hour of fun after the standard finish time, where our coaches will play games and activities until 5:00pm!

HOLIDAY CLUB ACTIVITIES

MULTI-SPORTS HOLIDAY CAMP

Football | Basketball | Dodgeball | Cricket | Hockey | Netball | Tennis | Badminton | Volleyball | Benchball | Ninja Kids | Obstacle Courses | Captcha the Flag

Our multi-sports holiday clubs in Leicester and Leicestershire have a wide range of activities on offer. We like to give children a taste of lots of different sports and have a great time playing them. Our non-traditional games are a huge part of the fun as well.

Please note all activities will be modified to reduce contact and keep social distancing and hygiene at the forefront of our approach. We will also spend as much time outside in the sun and fresh air as is allowed by the weather!

All children are booked into the same camp, so are free to swap between the 3 areas throughout the day and before each of the 4 sessions! Offering each child a unique experience each day!

PERFORMING ARTS HOLIDAY CAMP

Gymnastics | Drama | Dance | Cheerleading | Musical Theatre | Singing | Arts and Crafts

Our Leicestershire stage holiday camps are designed to offer unique activities for children who may not enjoy the sports sides of the camps. Whether through sports like gymnastics or the performing arts, the focus is building confidence and having fun! Unfortunately, we will not be able to have performances for parents to keep everyone COVID-19 safe, we hope you understand.

Please note all activities will be modified to reduce contact and keep social distancing and hygiene at the forefront of our approach. We will also spend as much time outside in the sun and fresh air as is allowed by the weather!

SOLVE: A MULTI-ACTIVITY HOLIDAY CLUB

Problem Solvings Games | Treasure Hunts | Fort Buildings | Quizzes | Nature Trails | Team Building Games | Arts and Crafts | Letter and Number Games | Orienteering

Rocket solve is designed for 2 main reasons, firstly, for all the kids who are neither “sporty” or “stagey”. We know there are lots of children out there who want to have a fun, active school holidays, but are not interested in playing traditional sports or learning musical routines etc. This is for them to attend and have the same opportunity make new friends and create memorable school holidays!

The second reason we created this camp area is due to the effects of the pandemic and lockdowns. We know that during lockdowns children have missed out on continuing their healthy, active lifestyles as well as missing out on developing key skills such as team work, problem solving and communication skills. Our fun games will help them to keep their minds active as much as their bodies!

All children are booked into the same camp, so are free to swap between the 3 areas throughout the day and before each of the 4 sessions! Offering each child a unique experience each day!

LEICESTER HOLIDAY PLAYSCHEME LOCATIONS

A TYPICAL DAY AT THE HOLIDAY CAMPS

All children are booked into and attend the same camp and venue. The each child will then choose which area they want to take part in before the start of each of the 4 sessions. This gives the children a unique, varied and personal school holiday experience!
